Syrinix is delighted to announce that its founder and Chief Technical Officer, Dr. Paul Linford, has been shortlisted in the Water Industry Achievement Awards category of “Engineer of the Year”.

The Water Industry Achievement Awards offer industry-wide recognition and acclaim to the innovative and cutting-edge achievements of companies.
Dr Linford is an authority in signal processing technology, specialising in water leakage. An electronics engineer, Paul obtained his PhD at the University of East Anglia in Norwich (UEA) and applied signal processing techniques to leak detection in water mains. Collaborating on research products with Anglian Water and Yorkshire Water, after acting as a consultant for Thames Water, Paul formed Syrinix as a spinout company from the UEA.

Syrinix today is an award winning leader in the development and delivery of intelligent pipeline monitoring solutions. Providing utilities with real time information, Syrinix’s solutions allow utilities to manage their networks actively and effectively for increased resilience, greater leak avoidance and lower operating costs.
As it stands, Syrinix has a strong product line and a steadily growing team, all pulling together to support not only continued improvement to existing solutions and R&D for the future; but the customers and units that sit out ‘in the field’.

The continued growth and success of Syrinix is testament to the vision of Paul as an engineer, an academic and a businessman and Syrinix stands out as an important working example of how UK University research can be successfully commercialised.

2014 was a strong year for Syrinix with products now sold into Australia, UAE, South and Central America, as well as Europe and UK markets.

James Dunning, Syrinix CEO said: “Paul is at the heart of Syrinix’s activities and growth. As well as being a superb colleague, it is a testament to Paul and the continued hard work of his innovative team that our products are now gaining exposure and visibility outside of our home market. We are delighted that Syrinix is now firmly on the world map and gaining a reputation for being a leader in its field”.
