Last week Sales Director Mark Hendy was at SWIG for the ‘Sensing in Water’ 2017 Conference.

Mark took the stage with Anglian Water Innovation Project Manager Fionn Boyle to talk about Syrinix’s involvement in the Anglian Water Shop Window Project and speciifically – Pressure Transient event source and location detection.

Anglian Water’s Innovation Shop Window is a microcosm of what a future water company looks like, today. For suppliers including Syrinix it’s a real-world test bed to trial products, services and initiatives, and develop viable commercial applications.

Syrinix are developing tools to identify areas at risk of transients for prioritisation for further investigation and mitigation. By careful analysis the optimal number and deployment locations of monitoring instruments for event detection and source location can be identified.

Generated events have been analysed within the network to confirm event detection and location capability. The first step to moving towards ‘smart networks’.

This innovative approach will result in Anglian Water being able to make well evidenced, proactive interventions reducing the impact of transients and delivering cost beneficial serviceability improvements against Interruptions to Supply, Water Quality and Leakage ODIs.
