    Role

    You will provide all aspects of technical support in both pre-sales and post-sales situations in UK and Europe. The role will be home based with extensive travel, supporting clients with training, project management and delivery including implementations and analysis. Regular trips to the Norwich office will be required to report to the company on requirements for product enhancements or modifications as part of the product road map team. You will provide regular updates to the Sales Director and escalate potential challenges and any unresolved issues.

    Responsibilities:

    Technical support

    • Be familiar with all aspects of Syrinix technologies (training will be provided)
    • To become the Company expert on communication protocols, networks, sensors
    • To support the Business Development team pursuing sales opportunities and in preparation of proposals
    • To be the point person for clients seeking contact with Syrinix technical and R&D departments (Technical Support Group)
    • Making an informed contribution to the product road map team by identifying product opportunities and weaknesses

    Customer Support

    • Be technical contact for the customer for all post sale technical issues
    • To identify best-fit solutions in pre-sales scenarios.
    • To provide project review and installation review services in pre-sales phase
    • Escalate challenges and overdue issues.
    • Support project delivery, implementation, analysis and report writing.
    • Support customer in technical matters post-sales.
    • Provide both technical and operational training.

     

    Reporting

    • Prepare monthly report for Sales Director on key performance indicators (KPIs), issues and challenges.
    • Prepare meaningful reports for the customer and communicate them effectively.


    Job Experiences

    Essential

    • Experience of working on data collection equipment and analytics.
    • Electrical or Mechanical applications in the field.
    • Customer facing role

    Desirable

    • Pipeline experience within water sector.
    • Interpretation and analysis of data.

    Knowledge/qualifications and skills

    • Qualification in Engineering or Applied Sciences.
    • Similar skill level achieved through work and continual development.
    • High level of competence with Microsoft Office applications, computers and IT systems generally.
    • Presentation and communication skills (oral and written).
    • Use of IT systems, CRM, Outlook and Microsoft office.

    Syrinix is based in Norwich, UK, and develops and provides automated pipeline monitoring technologies for water utilities. The Syrinix product set receives world-wide recognition with installations in Australia, UK, Middle East, Latin America, Europe and North America. Syrinix is expanding its data analytic, integration and hosting services and is seeking an experienced Linux administrator with database and web data transfer experience. Syrinix is located within the modern custom built Hethel Engineering Centre, just south of Norwich.

    Role

    You will be responsible for the servers that allow Syrinix networked products to function and provide analytics and information to our clients. Experience of using and integrating Amazon storage and database hosting would be an advantage. Day to day management of the systems, scoping resources to cope with increasing demand, database maintenance, data and database backup, scripts and other applications to allow customer access to their data are some of the tasks this role will require. You will produce data and storage access tools to enable other Syrinix software products to access the necessary data in a safe, secure and reliable manner.

    This role reports to the Chief Technical Officer and is a member of the Agile Development team within the Company

    Responsibilities

    • To become the Company expert on server management, reliability, database replication, disaster recover, data integrity and data availability
    • To support the rest of the technical team creating products on the Syrinix RADAR platform and the servers underpinning it
    • To be the expert for clients seeking customised data exports
    • Making an informed contribution to the product road map team by identifying product opportunities and reducing costs
    • Prepare meaningful reports for the customer and communicate them effectively when necessary

    Knowledge/qualification and skills

    You will have experience and a good working knowledge of:

    • Linux and other Unix derivative operating systems
    • Linux system management experience especially in a multi-machine environment
    • Programming skills in Linux shell scripts, C and its derivatives, PHP, Java and Python
    • SQL databases, maintenance and management (MySQL and PostgreSQL, NoSQL useful)
    • Amazon cloud services
    • Knowledge of data, network and information security (ISO 27001) would be an advantage
    • A qualification in Computer Science, Engineering or Applied Sciences is desirable
