TransientMinder helps to improve pipeline performance and durability by reducing the harmful impact of pressure transients.
By detecting and monitoring pressure transients across a network of pipes, TransientMinder enables operators and asset owners to understand the impact of operational activities on the surrounding infrastructure. Activities such as valve closures or rapid openings can have a potentially damaging impact, with pressure transients causing fatigue and sometimes catastrophic damage to other components within the local pipe network.
Used either as a temporary survey tool, or as a permanent preventative detector, information provided by TransientMinder can dramatically improve the durability and working lifetime of key pipeline installations.
Information can be used to help train staff, to prepare improved operational procedures and monitor actual operator actions, to minimise potentially damaging activities. As a result, damage and consequential repairs and maintenance are reduced, with substantially improved lifecycle costs.
