Chairman

Andrew is a senior executive with a sound track record of business management and development, change management and profit improvement. Past roles have included time with Barclays Corporate Finance, Larking-Gowen, Desira Motor Group and more recently, Kirton Holdings Limited.

     
Paul Linford  

Dr. Paul Linford
Director and Founder

Paul is an Electronic Engineer, working first in the defence industry before moving to the University of East Anglia in Norwich (UEA) to research speech recognition and neural networks in 1987.

He completed his PhD in 1998 applying signal processing techniques to leak detection in water mains. A short spell as a university lecturer followed but returned to full time research when funding through the WITE initiative allowed further work on leakage, collaborating with Anglian Water and Yorkshire Water.

After acting as a consultant for Thames Water and other companies working in the leakage business Paul, together with the other Syrinix directors, formed Syrinix as a university spinout company.

Dr. Chris Harrison
Director

Chris is Head of Technology Transfer at UEA and responsible for a team within UEA's Research and Business Services Division whose remit is the commercialisation of technologies arising from UEA research.

Chris brings considerable expertise in the protection and licensing of IT technologies to Syrinix as well as experience in numerous start-up businesses. In addition to his UEA role, Chris is also a member of the board of ICENI Advisory Limited and UEA's representative on the ICENI Investment Executive.

Alex Palmer  

Dr. Alex Palmer
Senior Engineer

Alex joined the company at the end of 2004 after completing a Ph.D. on the use of nonlinear optimization algorithms for the restoration of images. Multi-disciplinary strengths in signal processing, electronics and strong programming skills make him a key member of Syrinix's technical team.

Company Secretary

As the University of East Anglia's Director of Finance, Charles has taken the company secretary role in many UEA spin-out companies. Charles retired from the University in March 2006 but has continued as Syrinix's company secretary as well as taking on the financial duties of the company. His years of experience in finance are a major asset to the company.

     
Claire Gledhill

Finance clerk

Claire works part time for Syrinix dealing with invoicing and general book keeping. Claire formallled work in the Research and Business office at the University of East Anglia before returning to University for further study in 2008.

     
Paul Linford  

Dr. John Read
Iceni Observer

John is a chartered electrical engineer and a fellow of the IEE with over 40 years experience in the semiconductor industry in the UK and USA. After periods with Texas Instruments and GEC Plessey Semiconductors John has worked as an adviser/NEx for a number of start-up companies; Elixent; Anadigm and Alphamosaic to name a few.

Currently on the boards of Cambridge Semiconductor and Cyan Technology (AIM listed) and chairman of Enecsys and Si-Light Technologies John also mentors for the Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning Summer School at the Judge Institute in Cambridge and for the Cambridge Enterprise Agency.

John is a member of the Iceni Fund Advisory board and attends Syrinix board meetings as their observer.
